Oceano Voters To Decide On Tax Increase To Fund Five Cities Fire

Voters in Oceano will decide if their community remains a part of the Five Cities Fire Authority. Oceano Community Services District officials say a property tax increase of about 15 dollars a month is needed to keep Oceano Station 3 open full time. The station has been forced closed due to a lack of full-time staffing. Oceano CSD officials plan to put the tax measure on the March ballot. If approved, it will fund full-time staffers and help pay for new equipment. Yesterday Grover Beach city officials passed a resolution in support of the measure.
