Traffic Stop Turns Drug Bust

A traffic stop in Santa Maria ended up being a drug bust over the weekend. Police say a BMW was spotted speeding on Blosser Road and running a red light Sunday night. Officers were eventually able to pull the car over. The driver was taken into custody for suspected DUI and an outstanding warrant. A search of the car turned up a small amount of meth, but K-9 Rowdi alerted officers to an area under the car’s dashboard. That’s when police discovered about 135 more baggies of meth and cocaine. The driver is now facing several drug-related charges. Bail was set at 250,000 dollars.
