New North County Homeless Shelter

A new homeless services center is on the horizon for Paso Robles. According to the most recent San Luis Obispo County Point in Time survey, homelessness has increased in the county by 32% since 2017. In an effort to address the ongoing and expanding homeless situation in Paso Robles, the City Council approved the construction of a new homeless shelter on Sulpher Springs Road near the City’s water treatment plant. The First Step Homeless Services Center, will include 36 beds for individual and family sleeping areas, a dining room and full kitchen, restrooms and shower facilities, a gathering area, a laundry room and, staff offices. The new center will be managed by the El Camino Homeless Organization.
