Protest Organizer Arrested

Black Lives Matter protesters took to the streets and the 101 in San Luis Obispo yesterday afternoon. Protesters gathered at Mitchell Park at around 4 and began their march through the streets of SLO. Eventually blocking traffic on the 101 in both directions. According to police, protesters damaged a couple of cars parked on the freeway, including smashing the window of one car that had a four-year-old in the back seat. As the protest began to wind down, police arrested organizer Tianna Arata on suspicion of participation in a riot, unlawful assembly, conspiracy, unlawful imprisonment, and resisting arrest.
