Santa Maria’s Newest School Almost Ready For New Year

Santa Maria’s newest elementary school is getting ready for a new school year. Crews installed the sign on Bill Libbon Elementary yesterday. District officials say teacher workrooms and offices should be ready by the first day of the school on Aug. 13. According to KSBY, students will be distance learning this fall so, the library, cafeteria, and student desks will be some of the last things to be finished. The two-story school was named after a former director of the Santa Maria Boys & Girls Club, who spent his entire career helping children and their families in the Santa Maria area.
