Santa Barbara County Health officials say the county is very close to the “Orange Tier” of the state’s reopening system. Public Health Director Van Do-Reynoso had hoped the county could move to the next reopening tier tomorrow, but a recent outbreak among the UCSB sorority and fraternity communities are partly to blame for keeping Santa Barbara County in “The Red.” According to Newshawk, a high number of new cases in Santa Maria and Lompoc are also part of the problem.
