A contract dispute between Anthem Blue Cross and Dignity Heath has thousands of Central Coast residents looking for alternatives. Negotiations between the two companies broke down earlier this month. Now Dignity Health hospitals, including Marian, French, and Arroyo Grande hospitals are considered “out of network” for patients looking for treatment. According to Noozhawk, Anthem claims Dignity’s rates are more expensive than other health systems in the state. Dignity officials say they are committed to reaching a new agreement quickly.
