Quick work by Cal Fire Firefighters kept a vegetation fire from getting out of hand. The fire was first reported at around 4:30, east of the Cholame ‘Y’. Officials say it had the potential to grow quickly, but 30 minutes after arriving on scene, crews had the fire 50 percent contained. The flames scorched roughly 10 acres. An investigation into the cause is underway.
