It took San Luis Obispo City Fire, Cal Fire, and the CHP Helicopter to recover a hiker from Bishop Peak yesterday. Rescue crews received a call about the hiker just before noon. Officials say the 62-year-old man fell 15 to 20 feet near the top of the popular hiking area. rescuers used the CHP helicopter to pluck the man from the hillside and bring him to a waiting ambulance. He was taken to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment and is expected to fully recover.
