Santa Maria Faces 3 Million Dollar Budget Gap Due To COVID-19

Santa Maria City officials say they could e facing a 3 million dollar budget shortfall due to the coronavirus pandemic. The predicted budget gap is due to a lack of sales tax, and that revenue funds police officers, firefighters, and other municipal services. According to KSBY, some city officials say Santa Maria will need some type of financial relief from the state and federal governments.
