Firefighters Fight Cancer

10 local firefighters from San Luis Obispo County raised nearly 20,000 dollars in the fight against cancer over the weekend. The team of firefighters was part of a gathering of 2,000 firefighters who were in Seattle to climb the second tallest skyscraper west of the Mississippi to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. According to KSBY, the CAL FIRE – SLO County Fire team wore t-shirts and pictures of Ryan Teixeira, who lost his battle with Leukemia, and Mateo Cota, who is currently fighting a second bout with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
