A report released yesterday shows California’s population grew by about 186,000 residents last year. But growth in San Luis Obispo County was almost nonexistent. According to the California Department of Finance, the county’s population grew by just a tenth of a percentage point. The report shows the unincorporated areas of the county had the most growth while cities in San Luis Obispo’s south county slight decreases. The report also showed California’s birthrate is the lowest in recorded state history.
