Santa Maria Police are investigating an attempted robbery and an attempted purse snatching. Investigators say the suspect walked into the Bank of America on Town Center East yesterday afternoon just before 5 p.m… He demanded cash and began threatening the bank staff. He fled empty-handed but tried to steal a woman’s purse outside the bank. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s, wearing a gray or silver “puffy” jacket, gray pants, and black shoes. No weapon was seen. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the Santa Maria Police Department.
