Firefighters Keep Lopez Fire In Check

Cal Fire Firefighters have kept the flames of the Lopez Fire in check for the past couple of days. The fire broke out Saturday afternoon and had grown to roughly 220 acres, forcing the evacuation of 24 homes in the area. The evacuation orders were lifted yesterday morning. At last report, crews had made good progress and the Lopez Fire was 50 percent contained. Firefighters will continue to reinforce control lines and begin mop-up operations. The cause is still under investigation.
