Santa Maria City Fire Department officials say if you see smoke at the Santa Maria Airport today, don’t worry. The Fire Department plans to conduct a prescribed burn, weather permitting, to mitigate hazards associated with pyrotechnics at the Central Coast Airfest. The burn is scheduled to happen between 9 a.m. to 6 p.m… The city is warning people sensitive to smoke to take health precautions by limiting outdoor activities.
