The average price of gas in San Luis Obispo County has hit 4.35 a gallon and 4.20 in Santa Barbara County, Californians pay more than a dollar more per gallon of gasoline than the rest of the country. The California Energy Commission claims retail gasoline outlets are charging higher prices. Yesterday, Governor Gavin Newsom sent a letter to Attorney General Xavier Becerra and asked his office to investigate. Newsom thinks big oil companies are misleading and overcharging customers.
