A pilot was killed yesterday morning when their plane crashed at an elementary school in Orcutt. The crash happened at around 10:45 on a playground at Ralph Dunlap Elementary School. The school was closed due to shelter-at-home orders. Officials believe the pilot was on their way to Santa Maria from Van Nuys. An investigation is ongoing.
