SLO County D.A. Waiting To Charge Activist

The San Luis Obispo County D.A.’s Office has yet to file criminal charges against an activist arrested last month following a protest in SLO. Tianna Arata is facing eight charges in connection with a Black Lives Matter protest and march that blocked traffic on the 101 on July 21st. a decision on whether any charges will be filed against Arata will be made before her court appearance, which is scheduled for next month. Meanwhile, according to the Tribune, Law enforcement agencies in San Luis Obispo County say personnel costs to cover the bulk of local Black Lives Matter protests and provide mutual aid to other departments have reached more than $825,000.
