A Paso Robles man was taken into custody after holding police at bay with a knife. Authorities say the four-hour-long standoff started Friday morning at around 6 at the Villa Paseo Palms Senior Apartments on Ramada Drive. The 30-year-old was visiting his grandmother when she became concerned about his erratic behavior. She called the Sheriff’s Office. When deputies arrived, he barricaded himself in the apartment. He tried to escape through a broken window and charged deputies with the knife. One deputy discharged a taser and the man is now facing possible assault charges.
