Cal Fire and Firefighting agencies across the Central Coast are reminding residents to be prepared, and have go-bags ready. Red Flag warnings were in effect yesterday when several vegetation fires broke out during extremely windy conditions. One wind-whipped fire sparked on Price Canyon Road and Thousand Hills Road just before noon, forcing the evacuations of several nearby residents. Firefighters made quick work of another brush fire that broke out in the Santa Maria River bed. The Red Flag warnings will be in effect through this morning.
