Nipomo Man Sentenced For Deadly DUI Crash

A Nipomo man was sentenced yesterday for a deadly 2018 crash that killed an 82-year-old woman. The jury in the case found 25-year-old Edgar Rojas Morales guilty of several charges including, gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. His blood alcohol content level of .157%, nearly twice the legal limit to drive. Prosecutors pressed for a murder charge, but jury members were deadlocked. The judge sentenced Rojas Morales to 15-years-to-life behind bars.
