A Nipomo man is headed to prison after pleading guilty to 30 counts of assault. 54-year-old Charles Lafferty was accused of using a slingshot and marbles to fire at motorists in Monterey county. CHP investigators say Lafferty was connected to at least 70 attacks in Monterey and San Benito counties between February 2019 and January of last year. According to the Tribune, he’s due in court on June 29th when he’ll be sentenced to 15 years in state prison.
