The Pismo Beach Pier Plaza Slides are meant to be fun, but they have landed the city in court. Last week, an attorney filed personal injury lawsuits for two women who claim they injured their tailbones while using the slides in the fall of 2020. They also claim “wage loss and loss of earning capacity” as well as “emotional distress, physical hardship, and loss of enjoyment of life.” According to KSBY, there are two signs near the slides saying they are designed for kids ages 5 to 12, falls may result in serious injury, and to use at your own risk. City officials have no comment.
