A three-year solar project is now helping cut a local brewery’s carbon footprint. Firestone Walker Brewing Co. in Paso Robles recently installed a 9.5-acre solar array. Offsetting the equivalent of more than 3,000 metric tons of carbon emissions per year. Co-founder David Walker says Firestone Walker Brewing has become a large brewery and now needs to be aware of their impact on the community. If the new solar panels weren’t helping brew beer, they could power roughly 500 homes annually.
