A Santa Maia home used to help veterans and their families get back on their feet has been expanding. A once one-bedroom house has expanded into a three-bedroom home. According to KSBY, La Casa de Flores is an organization that gives local homeless veterans a place to stay until they can find a place of their own. Lowe’s donated windows and sent a few workers to help with installation at the, now, two-story home. La Casa de Flores promotes sobriety, recovery and stability through its in-house program.
