Something good has come out of the pandemic. Overall crime was down. According to a report presented to the San Luis Obispo City council this week, the city saw an overall 5 percent drop in crime last year. Sexual assaults decreased by 11 percent, property crime decreased by 7 percent, and DUI arrests decreased by 50 percent. The report also pointed out, aggravated assault was up 22 percent, but attempted sexual assault was down 60 percent.
